Mike Opitz has been fishing at Alaska West on the Kanektok for years. He’s a great angler and an even better guy, so we’re always particularly happy to see him playing with some Kanektok chrome.

It’s been amazing and a treat to watch this guy fish this river for the last 7 years. He seems to attract these fish to his fly like a magnet and he does it with ease, grace, determination, and a contagious smile. He is truly deserving of his nickname “The Hammer”…
