in Alaska West, News

Besides learning to tie it, you’ll learn how to cast it.

Back in July we told you about Skagit Master, a film in production about Ed Ward – Skagit casting pioneer, spey Zen master, anadromous Jedi Knight, our head guide at Alaska West – and his approach to spey fishing.

Ed and Jeff Mishler of New Water Media have completed filming and post-production, and today we’re here to let you know that Skagit Master is done and ready to ship.

Skagit Master covers casting techniques, fly tying tutorials, real-world fishing applications and more. We’ll come right out and say that it includes some great sequences shot at Alaska West on the Kanektok.

If you love spey casting as much as we do, you’re going to want to take a minute and order yourself a copy.

Great to hear – I checked with Jeff at New River Media today and he said he thought the early distribution issues were worked out.

Let us know what you think about it!

How can I contact Jeff at New Water Media? The SkagitMaster website contact page is not working. Thanks

Hi Bruce,

The email address that you should use to reach Jeff is info@skagitmaster.com.

just got a copy, its amazing! nice looking intruders, fishing flies, deff not show flies. What I really liked is the fact that Ed concentrated on being able to produce a fishing cast. One for river right and one for river left, aswell as the poke for challenging conditions.

Jeff i've seen a couple photos of your "Mishler's Prawn" any photo recipes?

Great to hear you liked it! We're contacting Jeff to see if the recipe for his prawn is available anywhere online.
