Having visited Alaska West last year I know about the camp dogs, especially Drake. I can't imagine doing much fishing, at a lodge or on my own, without a dog—as much as anything else they add to the enjoyment of my day on the water.
I remember last year, while visiting the lodge, when Drake jumped into the boat when I was getting ready to head out for a day spey fishing for kings, and Garrett (the guide) said, "No, Drake." I said, "Why not," and Garrett, respectfully said, "If you don't mind that would be great." Drake wedged his head between my hands and off we went. I have a picture of Drake, much like the one Cam, posted here, with his nose up to a nice bright jack king. Dogs, man, the ones that mind, are always welcome on the water with me.
