Some very unsavory characters, telling stories at Andros South before the day’s even begun.
Congratulations, Sam and Johnny, on three excellent choices you made on this day.
- Both of you are wearing Buffs, lessening the chances that you get skin cancer.
- You’re wearing long pants – not only keeping the sun off but protecting against the Doctor Flies that can come out in May.
- Sam, you took your shoes off when you stepped up onto the bow, so you’ll be quieter in the boat and you’ll feel it if you’re standing on your fly line.
Nice work, guys. You should think about getting into the business!
More on Gear for Bonefishing
Johnny Spillane, as you know, won 3 silver medals at the Vancouver Olympics earlier this year in nordic combined, an event combining ski jumping and cross-country skiing. As if being a 3-time medalist isn’t enough, Johnny’s first medal was the U.S.A.’s first ever in nordic combined. The icing on the cake? Johnny’s a fly fishing guide in Steamboat Springs.
The Deneki team has some nordic skiing in its background, so we couldn’t have been more proud of the performance by Johnny and the rest of the nordic combined team in Vancouver. We were really excited when Johnny agreed to join us for a congratulatory week of bonefishing at Andros South this month.
Johnny’s going to be at the lodge right smack in the middle of Deneki FIBFest, so don’t be surprised when you get to read all about his bonefishing exploits online.
Congratulations, Johnny! We’re looking forward to some good times on the flats.
