Air-lock strike indicators are back on the market with a new and improved design. They are now made with a biodegradable foam so if you happen to lose one on the river, it will naturally break down over time. This is just one of the many benefits that comes with the return of this popular strike indicator. Besides keeping our waterways cleaner, the biodegradable foam is 30% lighter than the original indicator which means easier casting and a softer landing on the water’s surface. They are also more buoyant allowing them to suspend 25% more weight than the previous design. The foam core means it is more durable so you don’t have to worry about any leaks or holes developing causing the indicator to take on water. The leader slot is also bigger allowing easier attachment to the line but the indicator still won’t cause kinks or damages to the leader. Perhaps the most important improvement, “Hurts 38.6% less when you hit yourself in the back of the head on a forward cast.” They come in 3 different sizes 1/2”, 3/4” and 1” covering all of your floatation needs! The new design makes this one of the most effective and durable strike indicators on the market but the biodegradable foam is a fantastic attribute and why these will be my indicator of choice going forward.
